Danish 1st Division (Denmark) (Betinia Liga) - the second tier of Denmark’s professional club league system, governed under the Danish Football Association (DBU) and administered within the national league framework by Divisionsforeningen. Regulations: the competition features 12 teams, they play a double round-robin in the regular season (22 rounds), after which the league splits into a promotion group for teams ranked 1-6 and a relegation group for teams ranked 7-12, and each group plays a further double round-robin (10 rounds) with all points and goal score carried over from the regular season, so each club plays 32 matches in total. Points are awarded 3 for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss, and ties on points are broken by overall goal difference and overall goals scored, then by head-to-head criteria in the order points, goal difference, goals scored, away goals scored, if teams are still level and it affects promotion or relegation a neutral-venue play-off match is used, otherwise the ranking is decided by drawing lots. The top two in the promotion group are promoted directly to the Superliga, and the bottom two overall, ranked 11-12 after the final phase, are relegated to the Danish 2nd Division, with no direct European qualification awarded via the 1st Division.
